祛风除湿 〔袪風除濕〕 qū fēng chú shī

Also dispelling wind and overcoming dampness. A method of treatment used to address wind-damp lodged in the channels and network vessels, the flesh, and the joints that causes wandering pain, using medicinals such as pubescent angelica (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, 独活 dú huó), notopterygium (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, 羌活 qiāng huó), saposhnikovia (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 防风 fáng fēng), large gentian (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix, 秦艽 qín jiāo), clematis (Clematidis Radix, 威灵仙 wēi líng xiān), mulberry twig (Mori Ramulus, 桑枝 sāng zhī), and acanthopanax (Acanthopanacis Cortex, 五加皮 wǔ jiā pí).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on GB, TB, LI, ST, and SP. Select GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), GB-31 (Wind Market, 风巿 fēng shì), TB-5 (Outer Pass, 外关 wài guān), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ) LI-11 (Pool at the Bend, 曲池 qū chí), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), LI-10 (Arm Three Lǐ, 手三里 shǒu sān lǐ), GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán), needling with drainage.
