Indications:

  • Dispels wind and frees the network vessels: wind-damp impediment (fēng shī bì) pain; aching pain in the lumbus and knees.
  • Cools the blood and disperses swelling: Painful swollen throat or throat impediment (hóu bì);toxin swelling of clove sores; injury from knocks and falls; bleeding due to external injury.

    Dosage & Method:

    Oral: Decoct (6–9g); steep in liquor to make a medicinal wine; use in powder preparations. Topical: Grind to a powder or used juice extracted by crushing as wash.

    Quality:

    Neat stems with the leaves attached are best.

    Product Area:

    Produced mainly in Jiāngsū, ānhuī, Húběi, and Shāndōng, and also in Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī, Sìchuān and Zhèjiāng.
