Notes: This is one of several items traditionally called fangji.

Product Description: The root of Aristolochia fangchi (southern fangji) is a hard, contorted, cylindrical root, 8–15 cm long and 1.5–4.5 cm thick. The exterior surface is grayish brown, with thick cork and coarse longitudinal furrows. On the cross section, the woody part accounts for the larger part of the area and is grayish white in color and slightly farinaceous in texture. The ducts appear grayish-brown forming a radial configuration. The decocting pieces are thin slices.
