Dispelling wind and nourishing the blood
祛风养血 〔袪風養血〕 qū fēng yǎng xuè
A method of treatment used to address persistent wind-damp with disharmony of the blood and vessels and liver-kidney depletion characterized by cold pain of the lumbus and knee using formulas like to treat wind, first treat the blood; when the blood moves, wind naturally disappears.
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on back transport points, LR, GB, SP, and ST. Needle with supplementation at BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), and BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù), and with drainage at GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), TB-5 (Outer Pass, 外关 wài guān), LI-11 (Pool at the Bend, 曲池 qū chí), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán).
