Use: Medicinal

Category: Wind-damp–dispelling agents / Wind-cold-damp–dispelling agents

Properties: Bitter*; warm*; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Heart and spleen channels.

Indications:

Dispels wind and dries dampness; kills worms, relieves itching.

wind-damp impediment (fēng shī bì); injury from knocks and falls; puffy swelling; damp sores; scab (jiè) and lichen (xiǎn). Also treats insomnia.

Dosage & Method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g dried, 30–60g fresh) or steep in wine. Topical: Decoct as a wash.
