Properties: Sweet and salty; balanced.

Channel entry: Lung and spleen channels.*

Indications:

Dispels wind-damp; frees the channels and network vessels.

stubborn wind-damp; insensitivity of skin; tuberculosis of the bone and joints; wind papules; scab (jiè) and lichen (xiǎn); wind numbness (leprosy); lockjaw; poliomyelitis. Comparison: similar to 白花蛇 but milder in effect.

Dosage & Method: 3–5g.

Quality: Best are dry, firm snakes with yellowish-white flesh and blackish brown skins.

Product Area: Zhèjiāng, Jiāngsū, ānhuī, Sìchuān.
