Actions and indications: Expels wind and relieves pain; strengthens sinew and bone. Treats sinew and bone pain; wind-cold-damp impediment (fēng hán shī bì); hypertonicity of the limbs; numbness and tingling of the limbs; aching pain of the lumbus and knees.

Quality: Thick, solid bones clean of flesh are the best.

Production area: Mainly produced in Sìchuān, Yúnnán, Guìzhōu; also produced in Xīnjiāng, Gānsū, Húnán, Húběi, and ānhuī.
