Medicinal therapy: Clear summerheat and dispel wind with Six-Ingredient Mosla Beverage (六味香薷饮liù wèi xiāng rú yǐn); if phlegm is copious, use variations of Six Harmonizations Decoction (六和汤liù hé tāng).
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on PC, LI, ST, and GB. Select PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), and TB-5 (Outer Pass, 外关 wài guān); needle with drainage. For copious phlegm, add CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn) and ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng).
3. Itching in the summertime like the pricking of needles and sometimes associated with redness and swelling.
Medicinal therapy: Dispel wind and clear the network vessels. Use formulas like Six Harmonizations Decoction (六和汤liù hé tāng) and Wind-Dispersing Powder (消风散xiāo fēng sǎn).
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on LI, SP, and ST. Point selection according to signs: For redness and swelling of the skin, add BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù). For great heat [effusion], add GV-14 (Great Hammer, 大椎 dà zhuī). For pronounced itching, add Itch Reliever (止痒zhǐ yǎng).
