Qì hemorrhoids
气痔 〔氣痔〕 qì zhì
hemorrhoids attributed to qì stagnation in the triple burner stemming from wind-cold and anxiety, thought, depression, and anger. Qì hemorrhoid patterns occur in episodes associated with emotional difficulties and are characterized by abdominal and rib-side fullness and distension, painful swollen anus, difficult defecation, bloody stool, and in some cases prolapse of the rectum.
Medicinal therapy: Resolve depression and disperse the evil using
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on BL, PC, TB, LR, and SP. Select BL-32 (Second Bone-Hole, 次髎 cì liáo), GV-1 (Long Strong, 长强 cháng qiáng), BL-57 (Mountain Support, 承山 chéng shān), TB-6 (Branch Ditch, 支沟 zhī gōu), TB-5 (Outer Pass, 外关 wài guān), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo); needle with drainage or with even supplementation and drainage.
Point selection according to signs: For abdominal fullness and distension, add ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ). For rib-side fullness and distension, add LR-14 (Cycle Gate, 期门 qī mén), GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán), and GB-24 (Sun and Moon, 日月 rì yuè). For painful swollen anus, add BL-54 (Sequential Limit, 秩边 zhì biān), and BL-58 (Taking Flight, 飞扬 fēi yáng). For difficult defecation, add CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), and LR-2 (Moving Between, 行间 xíng jiān). For prolapse of the rectum, add GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), and BL-25 (Large Intestine Transport, 大肠俞 dà cháng shù),
