Constipation attributed to damp phlegm obstructing the stomach and intestines. Phlegm constipation is associated with glomus and oppression in the chest and rib-side, panting and fullness, dizziness, sweating from the head, and rumbling intestines.
Medicinal therapy: Transform phlegm and free the bowels using formulas such as Two Matured Ingredients Decoction (二陈汤èr chén tāng) plus unripe bitter orange (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, 枳实zhǐ shí), rhubarb (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 大黄dà huáng), white mustard (Sinapis Alba Semen, 白芥子bái jiè zǐ), and bamboo sap (Bambusae Succus, 竹沥zhú lì). Severe cases can be treated with Drool-Controlling Elixir (控涎丹kòng xián dān).
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment on alarm, back transport, and lower uniting points of LI, and on CV, ST, and SP.
