Properties: Sweet; cold. (Some sources say bitter.)

Channel entry: lung, liver, and heart channels. (some sources say stomach channel.)

Indications:

Clears heat and sweeps phlegm; clears the heart and settles fright: Patterns of phlegm-heat cough; wind stroke; child fright wind; epilepsy; mania and withdrawal.

Dosage & Method:

Oral: 30–50g, taken drenched. It cannot be stored for prolonged periods under normal conditions, but recently it has been packaged in bottles that have a long shelf life.

Warning:

Zhú lì is cold and lubricating, so it is contraindicated in cold phlegm, as well as in patients with sloppy stool.

Quality:

The best quality is translucent.
