Lumbar pain
腰痛 〔腰痛〕yāo tòng
Pain in the lumbus, on one or either side, or affecting the spine. The lumbus is the house of the kidney, and lumbar pain is commonly associated with kidney problems. Specific causes include taxation detriment, debility in old age, depletion of kidney qì, contraction of external evils, and external injury. External evils and external injury generally cause acute pain that manifests as a repletion pattern.
