Dampness damage lumbar pain

伤湿腰痛 〔傷濕腰痛〕shāng shī yāo tòng

Also damp lumbar pain. Lumbar pain arising from living in a cold-damp place or from exposure to rain or dew. Dampness damage lumbar pain is characterized by cold painful, heavy lumbus that feels as though one were sitting in water. The pain is exacerbated by yīn-type (dull wet) weather and by sitting for long periods. The pulse is moderate, and there may also be generalized swelling.

Medicinal therapy: Use Priceless Qì-Righting Powder (不换金正气散 bù huàn jīn zhèng qì sǎn).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on BL, GV, SP, and ST. Select BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), BL-40 (Bend Center, 委中 wěi zhōng), GV-3 (Lumbar Yáng Pass, 腰阳关 yāo yáng guān), ouch points (阿是穴 ā shì xué), BL-60 (Kunlun Mountains, 昆仑 kūn lún), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán). Needle with drainage and large amounts of moxa.
