阴水 〔陰水〕yīn shuǐ
From
Medicinal therapy: Fortify the spleen, warm the kidney, free yáng, andtransform dampness. For devitalization of spleen yáng, warm spleen yáng and controlwater-damp. Use
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, back transport points, SP, andST. Select CV-9 (Water Divide, 水分 shuǐ fēn), CV-6 (Sea of Qì,气海 qì hǎi), BL-22 (Triple Burner Transport, 三焦俞sān jiāo shù), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交sān yīn jiāo), BL-39 (Bend Yáng, 委阳wěi yáng), SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn língquán), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), needlingwith supplementation and adding moxa.
Point selection according to patterns:
- For devitalization of spleen yáng, add BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù),CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), and LR-13 (Camphorwood Gate, 章门 zhāng mén).
- For debilitation of kidney yáng, add BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), GV-4 (Life Gate, 命门 mìng mén), KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), and KI-7 (Recover Flow, 复溜 fù liū).
Point selection according to signs:
- For swelling of the upper limbs, add LI-6 (Veering Passageway, 偏历piān lì).
- For swelling of the lower limbs, add SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring,阴陵泉 yīn líng quán). For swelling of insteps, addGB-41 (Foot Overlooking Tears, 足临泣 zú lín qì).
- Foroppression in the chest and reduced food intake, add CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘zhōng wǎn), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), and ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū).
- For sloppy diarrhea, add ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū).
