Vacuity desertion hiccup

虚脱呃 〔虛脫呃〕xū tuō è

Mentioned in Systematized Patterns with Clear-Cut Treatments (类证治裁 lèi zhèng zhì cái, juàn sān). Hiccup due to the true origin verging on the expiration.

Medicinal therapy: Use Yīn-Rectifying Brew (理阴煎 lǐ yīn jiān), Major Origin-Supplementing Brew (大补元煎 dà bǔ yuán jiān), or Right-Restoring [Life Gate] Beverage (右归饮 yòu guī yǐn).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, GV, and PC. Select PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng), BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), GV-26 (Water Trough, 水沟 shuǐ gōu), GV-25 (White Bone-Hole, 素髎 sù liáo), GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), and KI-1 (Gushing Spring, 湧泉 yǒng quán). Needle with supplementation and large amounts of moxa. Apply moxa on salt or ginger at CV-8 (Spirit Gate Tower, 神阙 shén què).
