Repletion glomus

实痞 〔實痞〕 shí pǐ

Fullness, oppression, and sensation of blockage in the stomach duct attributed to stagnating evils. Repletion glomus can arise in damp turbidity obstruction, cold stagnating in the spleen and stomach, and binding of phlegm-food. It may also occur in patterns of liver qì depression or external evils lodged in the inner body. In severe cases, there may be pain, vomiting, constipation, or inability to eat.

Medicinal therapy: Regulate qì dynamic, dispel damp-phlegm, and free bowel qì. Use formulas such as Stomach-Calming Powder (平胃散 píng wèi sǎn) or Unripe Bitter Orange and Glomus-Dispersing Pill (枳实消痞丸 zhǐ shí xiāo pǐ wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, ST, and SP. Main points: PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ).
