Qì depression stomach duct pain

气郁脘痛 〔氣鬱脘痛〕qì yù wǎn tòng

Also liver-stomach qì pain. Stomach pain resulting from affect-mind binding depression (mental or emotional imbalance) and liver qì invading the stomach. The pain is not confined to a fixed location, is relieved by pressureand is often accompanied by pain in both rib-sides. Other signs include frequent belching, clamoring stomach, or vomiting of sour fluid.

Medicinal therapy: Course the liver and rectify qì. Use Bupleurum Liver-Coursing Powder (柴胡疏肝散 chái hú shū gān sǎn), Aquilaria Qì-Downbearing Decoction (沉香降气汤 chén xiāng jiàng qì tāng), or Toosendan Powder (金铃子散 jīn líng zǐ sǎn). For vomiting of acid fluid, Left-Running Metal Pill (左金丸 zuǒ jīn wán), ark shell (Arcae Concha, 瓦楞子 wǎ léng zǐ), and cuttlefish bone (Sepiae Endoconcha, 海螵蛸 hǎi piāo xiāo) can be added.

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on alarm and uniting points of ST, PC, LR, and SP. Select CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), SP-4 (Yellow Emperor, 公孙 gōng sūn), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù) LR-14 (Cycle Gate, 期门 qī mén), GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo); needle with drainage. For pronounced qì stagnation, add CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng).
