Infertility resulting when phlegm-damp arising internally in obese people becomes lodged in the thoroughfare (chōng) and controlling (rèn) vessels or when excessive fat congests the uterus and the uterine vessels. Obesity infertility is usually associated with heart palpitation, shortness of breath, and copious vaginal discharge.

Medicinal therapy: Treat with Palace-Opening Pill (启宫丸 qǐ gōng wán), which contains pinellia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 半夏 bàn xià), atractylodes (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 苍朮 cāng zhú), chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 川芎 chuān xiōng), tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮 chén pí), cyperus (Cyperi Rhizoma, 香附子 xiāng fù zǐ), medicated leaven (Massa Medicata Fermentata, 神曲 shén qū), and poria (Poria, 茯苓 fú líng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV and ST. Select CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo); and KI-13 (Qì Point, 气穴 qì xué); needle with even supplementation and drainage or with supplementation.

Point selection according to signs: For heart palpitation, add BL-15 (Heart Transport, 心俞 xīn shù), and HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén). For shortness of breath, add CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng), LU-5 (Cubit Marsh, 尺泽 chǐ zé), and LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ). For copious vaginal discharge, add GB-26 (Girdling Vessel, 带脉 dài mài), BL-30 (White Ring Transport, 白环俞 bái huán shù), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán).
