Summerheat tetany
暑痉 〔暑痙〕shǔ jìng
Fright wind due to the contraction of summerheat characterized by generalized heat effusion, headache, stiffness of the nape, and absence of sweating.
Medicinal therapy: Use
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on PC, LI, ST, GV, GB, and BL. Select PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén), SI-3 (Back Ravine, 后溪 hòu xī), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán), GV-8 (Sinew Contraction, 筋缩 jīn suō), BL-57 (Mountain Support, 承山 chéng shān), and BL-60 (Kunlun Mountains, 昆仑 kūn lún); needle with drainage to clear summerheat and resolve tetany.
