Spleen vacuity diarrhea

脾虚泄泻 〔脾虛泄瀉〕 pí xū xiè xiè

Diarrhea due to habitual spleen qì vacuity or to damage to the spleen and stomach by excessive consumption of cold things after illness or by dietary irregularities. Thin diarrhea is a associated with weak health, fear of cold, withered-yellow facial complexion, cold extremities, fatigued limbs, no thought of food and drink, faint weak or slow to moderate pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Fortify and warm splenic movement. Center-Rectifying Decoction (理中汤 lǐ zhōng tāng), Four Gentlemen Decoction (四君子汤 sì jūn zǐ tāng), and Ginseng, Poria, and White Atractylodes Powder (参苓白朮散 shēn líng bái zhú sǎn)

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on the back transport and alarm points of the SP and ST. Select BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-21 (Stomach Transport, 胃俞 wèi shù), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), LR-13 (Camphorwood Gate, 章门 zhāng mén), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), SP-4 (Yellow Emperor, 公孙 gōng sūn), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ); needle with supplementation and add moxa. Five Pillar Points (五柱穴 wǔ zhù xué), can also be moxaed. See spleen diarrhea; qì fall diarrhea.
