Ingredients:
- Rén shēn (人参 Ginseng Radix, ginseng) (or Dǎng shēn (党参 Codonopsis Radix, codonopsis [root])) 1 kg
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]) 1 kg
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 1 kg
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix–fried) 1 kg
- Shān yào (山药 Dioscoreae Rhizoma, dioscorea [root]) 1 kg
- Bái biǎn dòu (白扁豆 Lablab Semen Album, lablab [bean]) 500g
- Lián zǐ ròu (莲子肉 Nelumbinis Semen, lotus seed) 500g
- Jié gěng (桔梗 Platycodonis Radix, platycodon [root]) 500g
- Yì yǐ rén (薏苡仁 Coicis Semen, coix [seed]) 500g
- Suō shā rén (缩砂仁 Amomi Villosi Semen seu Fructus, Vietnamese amomum [fruit]) 500g
Action: Fortifies the spleen and supplements qì; harmonizes the stomach and percolates dampness.

Method: Decoct and split into two.
Rationale: Rén shēn —or Dǎng shēn—, Shān yào, and lotus seed boost qì and fortify the spleen, as well as harmonizing the stomach and checking diarrhea. Together they supplement both spleen qì and spleen yīn, thus checking the diarrhea and halting the damage to spleen yīn that occurs in spleen vacuity diarrhea. Bái zhú, Fú líng, Yì yǐ rén, and Bái biǎn dòu fortify the spleen and percolate dampness. Gān cǎo and Dà zǎo sweet and harmonize the center, ensuring that the dampness-percolating medicinals do not damage spleen yīn. Shā rén arouses the spleen and harmonizes the stomach, rectifies qì and loosens the center; it addresses the qì stagnation that qì vacuity dampness causes. Jié gěng diffuses the lung to help the spread of essence around the body.
