Postpartum fright heart palpitation

产后惊悸 〔產後驚悸〕 chǎn hòu jīng jì

Heart palpitation after childbirth that is brought on by fright, associated in severe cases with fixity of the eyes and inability to speak. Postpartum fright palpitation are attributed to blood vacuity and insufficiency of heart qì.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement the heart and quiet the spirit using Heart-Nourishing Decoction (养心汤 yǎng xīn tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on HT, PC, back transport points, SP, and ST. Select BL-15 (Heart Transport, 心俞 xīn shù), CV-14 (Great Tower Gate, 巨阙 jù què), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén), BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), and HT-5 (Connecting Lǐ, 通里 tōng lǐ); needle with supplementation and add moxa.
