Gallbladder heat profuse sleeping

胆热多睡 〔膽熱多睡〕 dǎn rè duō shuì

Increased sleep due to gallbladder repletion heat with phlegm in the chest and diaphragm. Gallbladder heat profuse sleeping is characterized by long periods of sleep between which the patient occasionally gets up. Other signs include ungratifying thought, head clouded and oppressed as though drunken, vexation and congestion in the heart and chest, bitter taste in the mouth, and heavy clouded head and vision.

Medicinal therapy: Clear the gallbladder and discharge heat. Use Root Poria Powder (茯神散 fú shén sǎn).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on back transport points, HT, SP, LR, GB, and ST. Select BL-19 (Gallbladder Transport, 胆俞 dǎn shù), BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù), BL-15 (Heart Transport, 心俞 xīn shù), HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán), GB-43 (Pinched Ravine, 侠溪 xiá xī), LI-11 (Pool at the Bend, 曲池 qū chí), KI-6 (Shining Sea, 照海 zhào hǎi), and ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng). Needle with drainage.
