A method of treatment used to address dampness and heat binding in the upper or middle burner characterized by oppression in the chest, abdominal distension, poor appetite, bitter taste in the mouth, sometimes sore throat, yellow or reddish urine, slimy yellow tongue fur, and soggy rapid pulse.
Medicinal therapy: Use formulas such as Sweet Dew Toxin-Dispersing Elixir (甘露消毒丹gān lù xiāo dú dān) and Virgate Wormwood Decoction (茵陈蒿汤yīn chén hāo tāng).
Acumoxatherapy: Needle with drainage at PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), LI-11 (Pool at the Bend, 曲池 qū chí), SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán), ST-37 (Upper Great Hollow, 上巨虚 shàng jù xū), and ST-44 (Inner Court, 内庭 nèi tíng).
