Clearing heat and stanching bleeding

清热止血 〔清熱止血〕qīng rè zhǐ xuè

A method of treatment used to address frenetic movement of hot blood, as observed in stomach heat blood ejection with bright colored blood, dry mouth and throat, crimson red tongue, yellow tongue fur, and a surging rapid pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Use medicinals such as madder (Rubiae Radix, 茜草根 qiàn cǎo gēn), ass hide glue (Asini Corii Colla, 阿胶 ē jiāo), scutellaria (Scutellariae Radix, 黄芩 huáng qín), arborvitae leaf (Platycladi Cacumen, 侧柏叶 cè bǎi yè), dried/fresh rehmannia (Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, 生地黄 shēng dì huáng), and field thistle (Cirsii Herba, 小蓟 xiǎo jì).

Acumoxatherapy: Select points such as PC-7 (Great Mound, 大陵 dà líng), PC-4 (Cleft Gate, 郄门 xī mén), LU-6 (Collection Hole, 孔最 kǒng zuì), LU-9 (Great Abyss, 太渊 tài yuān), KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), and ST-44 (Inner Court, 内庭 nèi tíng), and needle with drainage.
