Wind-phlegm headache

风痰头痛 〔風痰頭痛〕 fēng tán tóu tòng

Headache attributed to wind-phlegm harassing the upper body. The headache is accompanied by dizziness, desire to keep the eyes closed, laziness to speak, fatigued heavy body, oppression in the chest, nausea, and in some cases, green-blue or yellow cheeks, or phlegm-drool ejection.

Medicinal therapy: Dispel wind and transform phlegm with formulas such as Pinellia, White Atractylodes, and Gastrodia Decoction (半夏白朮天麻汤 bàn xià bái zhú tiān má tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, GB, ST, and LI. Select GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān) LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng), ST-8 (Head Corner, 头维 tóu wéi), Greater yáng (tài yáng) (太阳 tài yáng), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán); needle with drainage.
