Dizziness attributed to wind-phlegm congestion. Wind-phlegm dizziness is characterized by dizzy head and flowery vision, with headache, hypertonicity of the shoulder and back, heavy body, tendency to sleep, oppression in the chest, heart palpitation, and vomiting of phlegm-drool.
Medicinal therapy: Dispel wind and transform phlegm with formulas such as Pinellia, White Atractylodes, and Gastrodia Decoction (半夏白朮天麻汤bàn xià bái zhú tiān má tāng) or Gastrodia Pill (天麻丸tiān má wán).
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on GV, GB, LR, ST, and LI. Select GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), ST-8 (Head Corner, 头维 tóu wéi), Hall of Impression (印堂yìn táng), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), and ST-41 (Ravine Divide, 解溪 jiě xī); needle with drainage.
