Upper dispersion

上消 〔上消〕shàng xiāo

Also lung dispersion; A dispersion-thirst pattern characterized principally by thirst with taking of fluids, attributable to exuberant heart-stomach fire and upper burner dryness-heat.

Medicinal therapy: Moisten the lung and clear the stomach. Use White Tiger Decoction Plus Ginseng (白虎加人参汤 bái hǔ jiā rén shēn tāng), Dispersion-Thirst Formula (消渴方 xiāo kě fāng), or Ophiopogon and Asparagus Decoction (二冬汤 èr dōng tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on LU and back transport points. Select BL-13 (Lung Transport, 肺俞 fèi shù), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), LU-10 (Fish Border, 鱼际 yú jì), CV-23 (Ridge Spring, 廉泉 lián quán), KI-6 (Shining Sea, 照海 zhào hǎi), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo); needle with even supplementation and drainage.
