Stomach heat malign obstruction

胃热恶阻 〔胃熱惡阻〕wèi rè è zǔ

Malign obstruction (vomiting in pregnancy) due to stomach heat. In pregnancy, thoroughfare (chōng) vessel qì is exuberant and easily causes nondownbearing of stomach qì when stomach heat is present. Stomach heat pregnancy vomiting is characterized by vomiting, heart vexation, tidal reddening of the face, thirst with a liking for cool drinks, and constipation.

Medicinal therapy: Clear stomach heat, downbear counterflow, and check vomiting. Use perilla leaf (Perillae Folium, 紫苏叶 zǐ sū yè), coptis (Coptidis Rhizoma, 黄连 huáng lián), pinellia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 半夏 bàn xià), bamboo shavings (Bambusae Caulis in Taenia, 竹茹 zhú rú), and tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮 chén pí).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, PC, SP, ST, and LI. Select CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), SP-4 (Yellow Emperor, 公孙 gōng sūn), ST-44 (Inner Court, 内庭 nèi tíng), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ). Needle with drainage.
