Qì vacuity heart palpitation

气虚心悸 〔氣虛心悸〕 qì xū xīn jì

Heart palpitation attributed to qì vacuity and attended by emptiness below the heart, with palpitation usually preceded by vexation. The pulse is large and forceless.

Medicinal therapy: Warm yáng and boost qì with Minor Center-Fortifying Decoction (小建中汤 xiǎo jiàn zhōng tāng), True Warrior Decoction (真武汤 zhēn wǔ tāng), or Counterflow Cold Decoction (四逆汤 sì nì tāng) plus cinnamon bark (Cinnamomi Cortex, 肉桂 ròu guì).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on back transport points, CV, HT, and PC. Select BL-15 (Heart Transport, 心俞 xīn shù), CV-14 (Great Tower Gate, 巨阙 jù què), HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and GV-4 (Life Gate, 命门 mìng mén); needle with even supplementation and drainage.
