Dizziness that arises when spleen vacuity allows phlegm-rheum to collect and ascend to cloud the clear orifices. Phlegm-rheum dizziness is attended by heavy-headedness, oppression in the chest, vomiting, copious phlegm, and hasty panting.
Medicinal therapy: Fortify the spleen and transform rheum with formulas such as Two Matured Ingredients Decoction (二陈汤èr chén tāng), Phlegm-Abducting Decoction (导痰汤dǎo tán tāng), or Six Gentlemen Decoction (六君子汤liù jūn zǐ tāng).
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on ST and LI. Select ST-8 (Head Corner, 头维 tóu wéi), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng), and ST-41 (Ravine Divide, 解溪 jiě xī); needle with even supplementation and drainage.
