Six Gentlemen Decoction
六君子汤 〔六君子湯〕 liù jūn zǐ tāng

Ingredients
- Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root]) 9g
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]) 9g
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 9g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 3g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 9g
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) 6g
Actions: Boosts qì and fortifies the spleen; harmonizes the stomach and transforms phlegm.
Indications: Spleen-stomach qì vacuity with no thought of food and drink, qì distension in the stomach duct and abdomen,

Method: Decoct with water.
Notes: This is Sì jūn zǐ tāng (四君子汤 Four Gentlemen Decoction) with the addition of Chén pí and Bàn xià.
