Phlegm-rheum rapid panting

痰饮喘急 〔痰飲喘急〕 tán yǐn chuǎn jí

Rapid panting that arises when phlegm-rheum congests in the lung and causes counterflow ascent of qì. Phlegm-rheum rapid panting is mostly observed in children.

Medicinal therapy: Treat with Perilla Seed and Lepidium/Descurainiae Phlegm-Rolling Pill (苏葶滚痰丸 sū tíng gǔn tán wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on LU, SP, and ST. Select BL-13 (Lung Transport, 肺俞 fèi shù), M-BW-1 (定喘 dìng chuǎn, Panting Stabilizer), BL-43 (Gāo-Huāng Transport, 膏肓俞 gāo huāng shù), LU-9 (Great Abyss, 太渊 tài yuān), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán); needle with supplementation or with even supplementation and drainage, and, if appropriate, add moxa.
