Moving the spleen
运脾 〔運脾〕yùn pí
A method of treatment used to address a spleen encumbered by dampness characterized by distension, inability to taste food, nausea, bland taste and sticky sensation in the mouth, clouded head, fatigued body, diarrhea, or abdominal distension, swelling of the extremities, scant urine, a white slimy tongue fur, and a soggy pulse, using medicinals such as atractylodes (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 苍朮 cāng zhú), officinal magnolia bark (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, 厚朴 hòu pò), tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮 chénpí), patchouli (Pogostemonis Herba, 藿香 huò xiāng), eupatorium (Eupatorii Herba, 佩兰 pèi lán), cardamom kernel (Amomi Cardamomi Semen,

Select BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), LR-13 (Camphorwood Gate, 章门 zhāng mén), SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān); needle with even supplementation and drainage, and, if appropriate, add moxa.
