Vaginal discharge due to kidney vacuity arising when early marriage or excessive childbirth damages kidney qì and causes insufficiency of kidney yáng, cold-damp pouring downward, and consequent damage to the thoroughfare (chōng) vessel and girdling dài vessel vessel. The discharge is copious, thin, clear, and persistent. Other signs include somber facial complexion, severe lumbar pain, cold sensation in the smaller abdomen, sloppy stool, and long clear voidings of urine.
Medicinal therapy: Warm yáng and supplement the kidney using Internal Supplementation Pill (内补丸nèi bǔ wán). If the condition persists and forms an efflux desertion pattern, medicinals such as calcined dragon bone (Mastodi Ossis Fossilia Calcinata, 煅龙骨duàn lóng gǔ), calcined cuttlefish bone (Sepiae seu Sepiellae Os Calcinatum, 煅乌贼骨duàn wū zéi gǔ), calcined oyster shell (Ostreae Concha Calcinata, 煅牡蛎duàn mǔ lì), euryale (Euryales Semen, 芡实qiàn shí), and toosendan (Toosendan Fructus, 川楝子chuān liàn zǐ) can be added for extra astringent discharge-checking action. For older patients in a weak state of health and with a severe pouring discharge, ginseng (Ginseng Radix, 人参rén shēn) and cimicifuga (Cimicifugae Rhizoma, 升麻shēng má) can be added to supplement and upraise qì and promote astriction.
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, GIV, SP, BL, and KI. Select GB-26 (Girdling Vessel, 带脉 dài mài), BL-30 (White Ring Transport, 白环俞 bái huán shù), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī) and BL-32 (Second Bone-Hole, 次髎 cì liáo); needle with supplementation and add moxa.
