Method: Decoct with water.

Rationale: Gé huā resolves the effects of alcohol, resolving alcohol damp through the exterior. Fú líng, Zhū líng, and Zé xiè are bland percolating water-disinhibiting agents that make the dampness pass with the urine. To eliminate damp turbidity that causes stagnation of spleen-stomach qì, the aromatics Shā rén, Mù xiāng —or qingmuxiang[1]—, Bái dòu kòu, Qīng pí, and Chén pí are included to rectify qì and loosen the center, and to transform dampness and course stagnation. Among these, Shā rén, combined with Shén qū, can resolve alcohol, thus enhancing the effect of Gé huā. Rén shēn —or Dǎng shēn—, Gān jiāng, and Bái zhú warm the center and fortify the spleen.
