Center Fullness Separating and Dispersing Pill

中满分消丸 〔中滿分消丸〕zhōng mǎn fēn xiāo wán

Ingredients:

Action: Moves the spleen and qì; clears heat and disinhibits dampness.

Indication: Damp-heat from splenic movement and transformation failure, causing abdominal distension, bitter taste in the mouth, and inhibited urination. Tongue fur: Yellow and slimy.

Category:

Rationale: Hòu pò, Zhǐ shí, and Jiāng huáng are warm, bitter, and acrid agents the open and discharge; they move qì and relieve the fullness. Gān jiāng and Bàn xià with Huáng lián, Zhī mǔ, and Huáng qín are acrid opening and bitter downbearing agents that separate and rectify the damp-heat. Zé xiè and Zhū líng disinhibit water and percolate dampness. Chén pí and Shā rén combined with the four gentlemen (Fú líng, Bái zhú, Rén shēn, and Gān cǎo) fortify the spleen and stomach, and transform phlegm turbidity. Thus, the formula a whole eliminates damp-heat and turbid water from the spleen.
