Ingredients

• Zhōng rǔ shí (钟乳石 Stalactitum , stalactite) 4g
• Má huáng (麻黄 Ephedrae Herba, ephedra) 4g
• Xìng rén (杏仁 Armeniacae Semen, apricot kernel) 4g
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 4g

Indications: Cold wheezing and panting..

Method: Grind together, blend with white honey, and form into pills the size of bullets. Take at the fifth watch and before bed.

Rationale: All three agents are warm. Stalactite warms the lung and invigorates original yáng, addressing vacuity panting and cold cough. Xìng rén eliminates phlegm, relieves cough, and calms panting. Má huáng effuses sweat, calms panting, and disinhibits water.
