Ingredients

• Hēi chǒu (黑丑 Pharbitidis Semen Atrum, black morning glory [seed]) 63g
• Qiān niú zǐ (牵牛子 Pharbitidis Semen, morning glory [seed]) 63g
• Chì shā táng (赤沙糖 Saccharon Granulatum Rubrum, brown sugar) 120g
• Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 500g
• Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 60g

Actions: Disinhibits urine and disperses swelling.

Indications: Generalized edema due to chronic nephritis or constrictive pericarditis.

Method: Skin and stone the jujubes after boiling in water. Mix with powdered morning glory seed, the juice from the ginger, and the sugar. Steam for one hour into a paste.

Dosage: Spread over four days, taking two teaspoonfuls at a time over.
