Yáng-Returning Emergency Decoction
回阳救急汤 〔回陽救急湯〕 huí yáng jiù jí tāng

Ingredients
- Fù zǐ (附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Praeparata, aconite [accessory root]) 9g
- Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger) 6g
- Ròu guì (肉桂 Cinnamomi Cortex, cinnamon bark) 3g
- Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root]) 6g
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]) 9g
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 9g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 6g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 6g
- Wǔ wèi zǐ (五味子 Schisandrae Fructus, schisandra [berry]) 3g
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) 9g
- Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 9g
- Shè xiāng (麝香 Moschus , musk) 0.1g
Actions: Returns yáng; boosts qì and engenders the pulse.
Indications: Aversion to cold with shivering, aversion to cold in the limbs, curled lying posture, green-blue lips, subdued and clouded spirit, generalized cold sweating. Pulse: Sunken, slow, and forceless.

Method: Decoct with water.
Dosage: Take only until warmth returns to the limbs.
