Source: Shì Yī Dé Xiào Fāng 世医得效方

Ingredients:

• Rén shēn (人参 Ginseng Radix, ginseng) (separately double–boiled) 6–15g
• Shú fù zǐ (熟附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Conquita, cooked aconite [accessory root]) 6–12g

Action: Returns yáng, boosts qì and stems desertion.

Indication: Fulminant desertion of yáng qì, qì ascent with rapid panting, shortness of breath, dizziness, and somber white facial complexion. Pulse: Faint, on the verge of expiration.

Method: Decoct with water.

Rationale: Rén shēn greatly supplements original qì while Fù zǐ warms and invigorates true yáng. Great warming and great supplementation arouse original yáng and boost qì to stem the desertion. The agents are used in large proportions to address a critical condition swiftly. Korean or Jilin are the most appropriate types of Rén shēn to use.
