Wind-heat fright palpitation

风热惊悸 〔風熱驚悸〕 fēng rè jīng jì

Fright palpitation that arises when wind evil invades to contend with heat congesting in the heart.

Medicinal therapy: Clear heat and stabilize fright using Bovine Bezoar Fright-Settling Pill (牛黄镇惊丸 niú huáng zhèn jīng wán) or Red-Abducting Powder (导赤散 dǎo chì sǎn) varied to take account of vacuity or repletion.

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on HT, PC, GB, and LI. Select HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), BL-15 (Heart Transport, 心俞 xīn shù), PC-8 (Palace of Toil, 劳宫 láo gōng), HT-8 (Lesser Mansion, 少府 shào fǔ), GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), TB-5 (Outer Pass, 外关 wài guān), and LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ); needle with drainage. For high fever, add GV-14 (Great Hammer, 大椎 dà zhuī) and prick Ten Diffusing Points (十宣 shí xuān) to bleed.
