Taxation fatigue
劳倦 〔勞倦〕láo juàn
Also taxation damage.
1. Overexertion, intemperate living (including dietary irregularities and sexual intemperance), or the seven affects (emotional imbalance) as a cause of disease.
2. A disease pattern resulting from taxation fatigue. Overexertion, dietary irregularities, sexual intemperance, and affect damage tend to damage spleen qì and kidney essence; hence taxation fatigue is characterized by fatigue and laziness to speak, panting on exertion, heat vexation, spontaneous sweating, and heart palpitation.
Medicinal therapy: Use
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, SP, and ST. Select CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), and SP-3 (Supreme White, 太白 tài bái); needle with supplementation and moxa if appropriate. For heat vexation and spontaneous sweating, add LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ) and KI-7 (Recover Flow, 复溜 fù liū). For heart vexation, add HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén).
