Damage by the five taxations

五劳所伤 〔五勞所傷〕wǔ láo suǒ shāng

Diseases of qì, blood, sinews, and bones caused by imbalance of work and rest. Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn) states, Prolonged vision damages the blood; prolonged lying damages qì; prolonged sitting damages the flesh; prolonged standing damages the bones; and prolonged walking damages the sinews.
