固崩止带 〔固崩止帶〕gù bēng zhǐ dài

A method of treatment used to address flooding and spotting, incessant menses, and vaginal discharge using astringing agents such as calcined dragon bone (Mastodi Ossis Fossilia, 龙骨 lóng gǔ), calcined oyster shell (Ostreae Concha, 牡蛎 mǔ lì), ailanthus root bark (Ailanthi Altissimae Radicis Cortex, 樗根白皮 shū gēn bái pí), cuttlefish bone (Sepiae Endoconcha, 海螵蛸 hǎi piāo xiāo), madder (Rubiae Radix, 茜草根 qiàn cǎo gēn), and sumac gallnut (Galla Chinensis, 五倍子 wǔ bèi zǐ), combined with spleen-fortifying kidney-supplementing medicinals such as astragalus (Astragali Radix, 黄芪 huáng qí), ginseng (Ginseng Radix, 人参 rén shēn), dioscorea (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, 山药 shān yào), cuscuta (Cuscutae Semen, 菟丝子 tù sī zǐ), charred eucommia (Eucommiae Cortex Carbonisatus, 杜仲炭 dù zhòng tàn), and deerhorn glue (Cervi Cornus Gelatinum, 鹿角胶 lù jiǎo jiāo).

For flooding and spotting or incessant menses due to yīn vacuity and blood heat, use Menses-Securing Pill (固经丸 gù jīng wán).

For dribbling vaginal discharge forming a damp-heat pattern, use Ailanthus Root Bark Pill (樗树根皮丸 shū shù pí wán).
