Qì vacuity spontaneous sweating

气虚自汗 〔氣虛自汗〕 qì xū zì hàn

Spontaneous sweating attributed to qì vacuity and insecurity of the defensive exterior. Qì vacuity spontaneous sweating is associated with aversion to cold, fatigue and lack of strength, faint moderate pulse or large vacuous pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Boost qì and secure the exterior using Jade Wind-Barrier Powder (玉屏风散 yù píng fēng sǎn) or Center-Supplementing Qì-Boosting Decoction (补中益气汤 bǔ zhōng yì qì tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, back transport points, ST, LI, HT, and SI. Select LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), HT-6 (Yīn Cleft, 阴郄 yīn xī), SI-3 (Back Ravine, 后溪 hòu xī), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), BL-13 (Lung Transport, 肺俞 fèi shù), and BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù); needle with supplementation and, if appropriate, moxa.
