Phlegm reversal

痰厥 〔痰厥〕tán jué

A reversal pattern arising when exuberant phlegm causes a qì block and reversal cold in the limbs, and, in severe cases, clouding reversal (syncope).

Medicinal therapy: Transform phlegm and downbear qì. If oral medication cannot be administered, use mechanical ejection to treat the tip. Then oral medication should be given to clear and downbear or to warm and disperse, dry dampness, and supplement the spleen and kidney. Oral formulas include Emergency Drool-Thinning Powder (急救稀涎散 jí jiù xī xián sǎn), Six Gentlemen Decoction (六君子汤 liù jūn zǐ tāng), and Six Gentlemen Metal and Water Brew (金水六君煎 jīn shuǐ liù jūn jiān).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment on CV and ST. Select CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng), CV-15 (Turtledove Tail, 鸠尾 jiū wěi), CV-22 (Celestial Chimney, 天突 tiān tú), PC-8 (Palace of Toil, 劳宫 láo gōng), and PC-5 (Intermediary Courier, 间使 jiān shǐ); needle with drainage and add moxa.
