LR-8 Spring at the Bend
曲泉 〔曲泉〕 qū quán
Alternate names: 足厥阴所入 zú jué yīn suǒ rù,

Modern location: An acupoint located on the medial aspect of the knee, in the hollow that forms proximal to the medial condyle of the tibia when the knee is bent about ninety degrees. the point is between the medial hamstring tendons and the medial condyle of the femur.
Classical location: On the inside of the knee... in the depression above the larger sinew and below the smaller sinew. When the knee is flexed the point is found at the end of the horizontal crease. From
Local anatomy: Anteriorly, the great saphenous vein, on the pathway of the genu suprema artery. The saphenous nerve.
Action: Clears damp-heat; disinhibits the bladder; drains liver fire; frees the lower burner; soothes the sinews and quickens the network vessels; disinhibits the lower burner.
Modern indications: Abdominal pain; inhibited urination; seminal emission; pudendal itch; seminal emission; knee pain; menstrual irregularities; menstrual pain; vaginal discharge.
Classical indications: Swelling and itching of the genitalia; impotence;
Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.5‒0.8 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 3 cones; pole 5‒20 min.
