Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter (leaves slightly sweet)*; cold*.

Actions and indications: Clears heat, disinhibits dampness, resolves toxin, and stanches bleeding. Treats wind-heat common cold; acute gastroenteritis; dysentery; jaundice; coughing of blood; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); bloody stool; bloody urine; clove sores (dīng); pain and swelling due to external injury.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g). Topical: Crushed.
