External injury
外伤 〔外傷〕wài shāng
Also trauma. Any damage to the body from outside; includes knocks and falls, incised wound, burns and scalds, and snake bites. Most external injuries involve damage to the skin and flesh, the sinews and bone, and the qì and blood. Injuries due to knocks and falls include bone fracture and sinew damage. Incised wounds primarily lead to blood spillage; burns and scalds cause damage to the skin and flesh and damage to yīn.
